Choose the Right Platform.

  1. Consider the nature of your business. Are you B2B or B2C? The platform you choose will differ depending on who you are targeting.
  2. Define your audience. Do you want to reach different types of people or similar people? Defining your target audience will help narrow down your platform of choice to execute your social media strategy.

Don’t Just Sign Up – Be Present.

  1. First things first – build your audience. Give them lots of attention and engage with them as often and as much as you can to create relationships.
  2. Have a long-term engagement strategy. It’s not enough to sign up and hope that you will gain clients and exposure.
  3. Set specific social media goals. Don’t do it for attention, do it with intention. Write them down and keep track of them.

Consistency and Quality are Key.

  1. Don’t compromise quality for consistency! Find a balance between the two.
  2. Utilize all the available tools. For example, stories are a great tool for consistent posting on social media.
  3. Learn the nature of all social media platforms and adapt accordingly, aim for daily interaction with people you follow and your followers to help build a community.
